About keepalive

What does this page do?

Keepalive asks your browser to keep your screen awake. Choose Infinite for an open-ended session, or Timer to set a duration. Pause or stop whenever you need.

Why use it?

Keep a recipe, presentation, dashboard, or reading material visible without repeatedly waking your screen or changing your device settings. No account or installation needed.

FAQ

Does the tab need to stay visible?

Yes. Keep this tab visible, or use the floating window in a supporting browser. Your browser may release the wake lock when the active document is hidden.

What happens when the timer ends?

Keepalive releases the wake lock. Your normal display and sleep settings take over; the page does not shut down your computer.

Why might it not work?

Native screen wake lock requires HTTPS or localhost. If your browser has no native support, Keepalive uses NoSleep.js to play a silent background video instead. Keep the page visible. Browser playback restrictions and device power-saving settings can prevent either method from working.

Is my activity uploaded?

No. Theme preferences and awake-time totals stay in your browser's local storage. No account is required.

Privacy policy

Data stored on your device

Keepalive does not require an account. The app stores your theme preference, daily and weekly awake-time totals, and your choice to hide focus warnings in your browser's local storage. The app does not upload these values or use analytics trackers. Clear this site's browser data to remove them.

Network requests and third parties

Your browser requests this page from its hosting provider and loads SweetAlert2 and NoSleep.js from jsDelivr. These providers receive normal request information, such as your IP address and browser details, and may keep access logs under their own policies. The NoSleep.js fallback plays an embedded silent video without using your camera or microphone.

Terms of service

Using Keepalive

By using Keepalive, you agree to these terms. Keepalive is a browser tool that requests a native screen wake lock or uses a silent video fallback while a session is active. You may pause or stop a session at any time.

Availability and limitations

Keepalive is provided as is, without guarantees of availability or sleep prevention. Browser permissions, tab visibility, playback restrictions, power-saving settings, and your device can affect whether it works. An active session can increase battery use. Do not rely on Keepalive for tasks where a sleeping screen could cause harm or loss.

Your responsibility

You are responsible for how you use Keepalive and for following any rules that apply to your device. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the creator is not liable for losses arising from use of the tool. These terms do not limit rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
